The Wuling Starlight, the company's first sedan with green drive, will go on presale at the Guangzhou Auto Show. The end of the month will mark the start of the formal sale. The vehicle will be marketed as a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and electric vehicle (EV).
Liuzhou Wuling Motors Co Ltd., General Motors, and SAIC Motor have partnered to form SGMW. The Wuling Hongguang MINI EV is the JV's best-selling model.
Depending on the kind of driving, the front face of the sedan has two different shapes. The headlamps of the electric model will be divided and have a closed grille. The plug-in hybrid variant will have penetrating daytime running lights along with a grille designed like expanding wings.
The five-seater Starlight has a chassis that measures 4835 mm in length, 1860 mm in width, and 1515 mm in height. It is supported by a 2800 mm wheelbase.
Black and light sand are the two color schemes used within the new vehicle. Double-spoke, multifunction steering wheel with floating LCD instrument panel and huge central control screen are features of the cockpit. The lines of the central console are comparatively straight.
A 75 kW motor from ESC10 and Qianyi Tech powers the EV. The curb weight is 1600 kg, and the maximum speed is 150 km/h. Lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) batteries are used. The suppliers are Heating Power and REPT. The battery's capacity is yet unknown.
Zenergy and Huating Power will supply the LFP battery pack for the PHEV variant. The capacity is also unknown at this time. A 100 kW motor from Inboer Electric Co., Ltd. will power the PHEV. The Liuzhou Saike Tech internal combustion engine has a power output of 78 kW.
SGMW facilities in Chongqing, Liuzhou, and Qingdao will produce the EV. Starlight's price has not yet been made public. The estimated price is 150,000 yuan (20,600 USD), which puts it in the mid-range.
