Volkswagen Australia is preparing to launch a special send-off edition of the current Touareg, named the Touareg Wolfsburg Edition. This new variant marks the culmination of the existing Touareg range, offering a mix of exclusive styling cues, upgraded features, and premium finishes for buyers seeking a final edition model before the next-generation SUV arrives.

The Touareg 210TDI Wolfsburg Edition is distinguished by a suite of exterior enhancements designed to set it apart from the standard models. It rides on 21-inch black ‘Leeds’ alloy wheels and features a Wolfsburg badge prominently displayed on the tailgate. Additional black accents are applied to the roof rails, side mirror caps, grille, and the brightwork surrounding the front and rear bumpers, giving the SUV a more refined and aggressive appearance. These visual upgrades create a cohesive and distinctive look that underscores the limited-edition status of the model.

Inside the cabin, the Wolfsburg Edition receives numerous enhancements to elevate comfort and convenience. A 14-speaker Dynaudio Consequence audio system delivers premium sound, while a driver-focused head-up display provides vital information directly in the line of sight. The SUV also includes a panoramic sunroof, four-zone climate control, soft-close doors, and power-adjustable steering column with memory functions. The front passenger seat is similarly electrically adjustable with memory settings, ensuring a high level of refinement throughout the interior.

This special edition replaces the TDI210 R-Line in the current lineup and matches much of its equipment, including optional upgrades like the $8,000 Sound & Comfort Package and the $3,300 panoramic sunroof. Pricing for the Touareg Wolfsburg Edition starts from $124,990 plus on-road costs. Buyers can choose from two standard metallic paint options—Silicon Grey and Grenadilla Black—or opt for Meloe Blue metallic for $700 or the exclusive Onyx White Wolfsburg Edition color for $2,000. Compared with the standard 210TDI R-Line, which started at $116,290 before options, the Wolfsburg Edition represents a saving of around $2,600 while providing enhanced features and exclusivity.

As Volkswagen winds down production of the current Touareg, all models—including the 170TDI, 210TDI Elegance, and Touareg R—will feature Final Edition interior appliques. In Europe, these finishing touches include laser-engraved logos on the rear door window surrounds and embossed markings on the leather gear lever, signifying the end of the generation.

Mechanically, the Wolfsburg Edition remains unchanged, powered by the 3.0-litre turbo diesel V6 producing 210 kW and 600 Nm. Power is routed through an eight-speed automatic transmission with all-wheel drive, ensuring the same strong performance as the outgoing models. Prices for the broader Touareg range start at $91,690 for the 170TDI and extend to $136,790 for the plug-in hybrid Touareg R flagship, excluding on-road costs and options. Volkswagen has confirmed that the Touareg 210TDI Wolfsburg Edition will reach dealerships nationwide in March 2026, though the exact number of units available for this limited run has not been disclosed.
