VinFast is a Vietnamese startup automaker and they have launched their first product in Vietnam in a limited number.
The first product of the VinFast is called the President and it is a luxury SUV with a limited production of 500 units. The President revealed at Geneva Motor Show last year as Lux 8. Pininfarina was in charge of the design for the President. The most important design elements are a V-shaped grille, slim headlights, a muscular hood, dual tailpipes, and rear LED lightbar. Buyers can also choose between 18 different colors for the bodywork.
Highlights inside the cabin are Nappa leather, 7-inch fully digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch infotainment screen, and a 13-speaker premium audio system.
While the president looks like Chinese modern crossovers with tiny turbocharged engines, it uses a big 6.2-liter V8 engine supplied by General Motors. The naturally aspirated engine can produce 420 hp and 614 nm of torque. Power sent to all four wheels via 8-speed automatic transmission and allows the car to hit 100 kph in 6.8 seconds which is pretty slow for a +400 hp car.
Pricing for the VinFast President starts at $197,720 but the first 100 examples out of 500 units will be sold from $163,335.
