The new Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder was launched in India. A fully hybrid and mild hybrid version of the Urban Cruiser Hyryder is an electrified SUV. Maruti Suzuki, which will shortly release its own version, helped develop it.
The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder has dimensions of 4,365 mm in length, 1,795 mm in width, and 1,635 mm in height, with a 2,600 mm wheelbase.
According to design, the "Crystal Acrylic Grille," which is mostly covered and has chrome accents dividing the thin LED DRLs, is what makes the new Urban Cruiser Hyryder stand out in the front end.
The massive center intake and lower-mounted headlamps on the bumper closely resemble Toyota's design language.
With a chrome strip joining them, the C-shaped LED taillights at the rear have graphics that are evocative of the C-HR. For a more tough appearance, a sizable skid plate is present on the rear bumper.
The Urban Cruiser Hyryder's cockpit has a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and a 9-inch infotainment touchscreen. Soft-touch accents in the same shade of brown as the duo-tone leather-upholstered seats may be found on the dashboard and doors.
Many unique amenities, like a panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, a head-up display, a 360-degree camera, a wireless phone charger, ventilated seats, rear AC vents, and rear USB connections, are standard on high-end models.
On the safety side, the Urban Cruiser Hyryder comes with only six airbags and no ADAS capabilities so we can be sure that in terms of safety it is not as equipped as European specs Toyotas.
There are two different electric petrol powertrains available for the Hyryder. Suzuki's "Neo Drive" unit, which combines the 1.5-liter K-Series engine with a mild-hybrid 12-Volt ISG system and a compact 6Ah Li-ion battery, is installed in the entry-level vehicle.
It has a combined output of 101 horsepower and 135 Nm of torque and can be connected to either a six-speed automatic transmission or a five-speed manual gearbox to drive the front axle.
The other variant has Toyota's own complete hybrid system installed. The system consists of a 1.5-liter engine from Toyota, a more powerful electric motor, an ISG, and a bigger lithium-ion battery. Together, the hybrid powertrain generates 114 horsepower and 141 Nm of torque. An e-Drive transmission transfers power to the front axle. The Urban Cruiser Hyryder Hybrid, according to Toyota, is the most effective vehicle in its class.
Along with its impending Suzuki brother, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder will be made at the Bidadi plant in Karnataka, India. The SUV will be sold in markets other than India. Soon, Maruti Suzuki will also introduce its own variation. Closer to the debut, the hybrid model's price will be revealed.
