In Japan, Toyota has unveiled the all-new fourth-generation Noah and Voxy. A extended variant of the TNGA (GA-C) platform underpins the family-oriented minivan siblings.
Despite the fact that the Noah and Voxy share the same foundations, interior, and the bulk of their body panels, they are offered as separate vehicles.
The Voxy features a twin headlamp design with more sophisticated intakes and LEDs, while the Noah has a more traditional appearance. Both the Noah and the Voxy have a large grille that covers the majority of the front end.
At the back, Noah receives red LED taillights vs a transparent design for the Voxy with extra ornamental chrome bars.
The cars are 4,695 mm long, 1,730 mm wide, and 1,895-1,925 mm in height, with a 2,850 mm wheelbase.
The interior may be configured as a seven-seat or eight-seat three-row configuration with folding seats. With a cabin height of 1,405 mm and extra underfloor storage in the boot, there is plenty of room for passengers and their stuff.
With an 8-inch or 10.5-inch touchscreen display, a high-mounted center console, nicely designed cupholders, and a functional storage tray, the dashboard is rather contemporary.
Rear-seat passengers will appreciate optional extras such as a roof-mounted screen and a quality sound system. The Toyota Safety Sense suite, which incorporates all of the newest ADAS technologies, is also included.
There is an automatically retractable step and a grasp handle for simpler access from the wide-opening sliding doors, and the rear hatch is free-stop owing to a new system.
The minivans are powered by a 2.0-liter Dynamic Force petrol engine that sends power to either the front (FWD) or all four wheels (4WD) using a Direct Shift-CVT gearbox with 10-speed Sport Sequential Shiftmatic.
A next-generation hybrid powertrain is also available, which combines a normally aspirated 1.8-liter engine with a more powerful electric motor and a larger battery. This model is also available in 4WD with an additional electric motor, thanks to the E-Four technology.
Toyota estimates that the Noah will sell 8,100 units per month while the Voxy will sell 5,400 units per month.
Starting this month, both the Noah and the Voxy are available to order in Japan. The Noah is priced between $23,307 and $33,957, while the Voxy is somewhat more expensive, ranging from $26,975 to $34,570.
