Stellantis has officially reintroduced its most extreme Ram pickup, bringing back the SRT nameplate alongside a brand-new engine and a renewed focus on high-performance off-road capability. This marks the long-awaited return of the SRT badge to a Ram truck for the first time since the legendary 2006 Ram SRT-10. While the heritage connection is undeniable, this latest TRX is far more than a nostalgic exercise. Ram is boldly marketing it as the most powerful production, street-legal, gasoline-powered half-ton pickup ever built.

Although many enthusiasts were hoping for the return of the familiar supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V8, Ram chose not to rely on past successes. Instead, engineers developed a significantly revised version of the powerplant, pushing output to an impressive 777 horsepower and 921 Nm of torque. This represents a substantial increase of 75 hp and 41 Nm over the 2024 TRX Final Edition. It also places the truck firmly ahead of its closest rival, the Ford F-150 Raptor R, which produces 720 hp and 867 Nm from its supercharged 5.2-liter V8.
Speaking during a media event in Detroit, Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis explained that the company could have relaunched the TRX earlier by simply reusing the previous engine. However, the goal was to raise expectations rather than maintain the status quo. Kuniskis emphasized that this upgrade goes far beyond a simple recalibration, describing it as a comprehensive mechanical enhancement designed to deliver meaningful gains in performance and capability.
Visually, the new TRX leaves no doubt about its intentions. The front end is dominated by a distinctive grille featuring prominent SRT badging and a Flame Red “RAM” logo with a functional flow-through design. A sport performance hood equipped with LED clearance marker lights adds to the aggressive look, while LED headlights with Satin Black surrounds sharpen the truck’s presence. Lower down, a steel front bumper integrates a skid plate for added protection, complemented by Flame Red tow hooks and swept-back fog lights. Compared to a standard Ram pickup, the TRX is 6.8 inches wider, thanks to muscular fenders and composite fender flares that give it a commanding stance.
Under the hood, the upgraded V8 is paired with a 2.4-liter twin-screw supercharger and a dual-path induction system that channels cool outside air through both the grille and a centrally mounted hood scoop. These air streams converge at a radial filter to maximize airflow, efficiency, and durability. Power is managed by an uprated eight-speed automatic transmission with full manual control, working in tandem with a full-time active transfer case offering 4WD Auto, 4WD High, and 4WD Low. Six selectable drive modes—Auto, Sport, Snow, Tow, Mud, and Baja—allow the truck to adapt to a wide range of conditions. Performance is equally dramatic, with a 0–96 km/h sprint completed in just 3.5 seconds and a class-leading top speed of 190 km/h.
The rear design is more restrained but still purposeful, featuring a steel bumper, darkened LED taillights, Flame Red tow hooks, and a sport-tuned dual exhaust system with black 5-inch tips. Beneath the bodywork, the TRX is equipped with an off-road-focused suspension, forged aluminum control arms, unique spring rates, and Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive shocks. Electronic locking front and rear differentials, 18-inch wheels wrapped in 35-inch tires, and nearly 12 inches of ground clearance further underline its serious capability.
Inside, the sporty theme continues with black Natura Plus leather seats, suede inserts, carbon-fiber trim, advanced digital displays, and a long list of luxury and driver-assistance features. A special TRX Bloodshot Night Edition will also be offered to celebrate the model’s return. The 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX is set to arrive in the second half of 2026, with pricing starting at $99,995 before destination charges.
