The Kia K8, which has recently received a notable update, represents a significant evolution from the model previously known as the Cadenza in other markets. Initially launched as the K7 in South Korea, the K8 was introduced to bring a fresh design and advanced features to the brand's lineup. With its latest redesign, Kia aims to enhance both the aesthetic appeal and technological sophistication of the K8, addressing earlier criticisms and incorporating contemporary design elements to better meet modern expectations.

The updated K8 adopts Kia's latest design philosophy, which introduces vertical headlights that give the car a modern and futuristic look. The front end has been entirely revamped from the earlier model, now showcasing a broad LED strip that connects the headlights, creating a cohesive appearance. Additionally, Kia has repositioned its logo from the bumper to a new location at the base of the hood, contributing to a cleaner and more refined look.

At the rear, the taillights remain largely the same, but the redesigned bumper presents a more streamlined and polished appearance. Unusually, the refresh has resulted in slightly longer front and rear overhangs due to the reshaped bumpers, deviating from the norm of only making subtle changes.

Inside the cabin, there are several significant updates. The climate controls have been repositioned beneath the central air vents for improved ergonomics. Kia has also enhanced the interior with additional soft-touch materials and introduced an LED ambient light strip that runs across the dashboard, adding a touch of sophistication. The rear seatbelt buckles now feature illumination for added convenience. On the safety front, every model comes equipped with ten airbags as standard, and the headlights are equipped with adaptive high beams that automatically adjust to avoid dazzling oncoming drivers.

The K8 will initially offer a variety of powertrains starting this month. These include a 2.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine and a 3.5-liter V6 petrol engine, as well as a 3.5-liter V6 LPG option. For those interested in hybrid technology, a 1.6-liter hybrid engine will be available by the end of the year, reflecting the latest automotive trends. The K8's South Korean lineup includes a 2.5-liter gasoline engine that produces 195 horsepower and 183 lb-ft of torque for the base model, with a more powerful 3.5-liter V6 engine generating 296 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque. The all-wheel-drive option is available only with the larger V6 engine. Additionally, there is a 3.5 LPI variant, which stands for liquid propane injection, offering 237 horsepower and 231 lb-ft of torque. The hybrid model, when it becomes available, will provide a combined 227 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque.
