The All-New Ram 1500 RHO Unleashed

Author: |

After teasing enthusiasts for several months, Ram has unveiled the successor to its beloved TRX, the Hellcat-powered beast, introducing the 2025 Ram 1500 RHO. With the TRX exiting the stage, the 2025 Ram 1500 RHO assumes the mantle of the brand's most athletic offering. Although not a direct replacement for the TRX in terms of both price and performance, it is set to occupy the top spot in Ram's new Sport truck lineup, alongside the Rebel, Warlock, and Power Wagon models.

Powering the RHO is the high-output variant of Stellantis's Hurricane engine, coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission. This turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine churns out 540 horsepower and 521 pound-feet of torque. Acceleration figures for the truck include a 0-60 mph time of 4.6 seconds, 100 mph in 11.7 seconds, and a quarter-mile pass in 13.1 seconds at 105 mph, with a top speed of 118 mph. However, speed isn't the RHO's sole forte.

Beneath its imposing exterior, the RHO boasts Bilstein's Black Hawk e2 adaptive performance shocks, specially tuned for the truck's weight distribution. Additionally, it features forged aluminum front upper and lower control arms, retuned spring rates, active performance damping, and other enhancements. With two inches of additional height compared to the rest of the 1500 lineup, it stands tall and ready for off-road adventures.

Despite its rugged demeanor, the RHO remains practical, with a towing capacity of up to 8,380 pounds and a payload capacity of 1,520 pounds. It can ford through 32 inches of water and offers 11.8 inches of ground clearance.

Enhancing its off-road capabilities further, the RHO is equipped with a BorgWarner 48-13 full-time active transfer case, a Dana 60 rear axle, and up to 14 inches of rear axle travel. Additionally, it features a high-flow induction system, a low-restriction exhaust system, and composite fender flares that widen the truck by eight inches.
