The eagerly anticipated Jimny 5-Door from Suzuki has finally been unveiled at the Auto Expo 2023 in Delhi, India. It is still the ladder-frame off-roader that we all love, but it has grown considerably to make room for the rear doors that lead to a much roomier interior cabin.

The Jimny 3-Door has a 3,645 mm extension. This brand-new 5-Door has a height of 3,985 mm. It's 2,590 mm wheelbase has been extended, making it significantly 340 mm longer than the 3-Door variant. Sized at 3,985 mm long, 1,645 mm wide, and 1,720 mm tall, the Suzuki Jimny 5-Door.

The SUV weighs between 1,195 and 1,210 kg, which is 75 to 125 kg more than its 3-Door equivalent depending on the specification.

The boxy shape, the lighting units, the unpainted bumpers, and the fender extensions are all identical, with the exception of the extra doors and the longer wheelbase. The chrome-infused grille is the only exterior change. It sports a rear-mounted spare wheel with a black cover and 15-inch wheels with 195/80 rubber tires.

The rear passengers benefit from additional interior space thanks to freshly fashioned seats. The back bench of the Indian-spec variant may seat up to three people. Even the faux exposed fasteners and the grab handle on the dashboard's passenger side were carried over from the normal Jimny's interior. It has a 208-liter load capacity with the back seats up, which can be increased to 332 liters after folding the bench.

include a rearview camera, cruise control, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, automatic climate control, nine-inch infotainment with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and an Arkamys sound system.

The 1.5-liter gasoline engine in the variant built for the Indian market makes 103 horsepower and 134 Nm of torque. A four-speed automatic or a five-speed manual transmission can be used with the engine. Suzuki's AllGrip Pro AWD system with low-range transfer gear is standard in both situations.

Owners of the Suzuki Jimny 5-Door will be able to choose between 2WD-high, 4WD-high, and 4WD-low modes for some real off-roading thanks to a 210-mm ground clearance, a 36-degree approach angle, a 24-degree break-over angle, and a 50-degree departure angle.

In terms of security, the 5-Door has six airbags, ESP, electronic brakeforce distribution, hill hold, and hill descent assistance (EBD).
