Making its highly anticipated debut at the Chicago Auto Show, the 2025 Kia K5 arrives with a series of subtle yet impactful updates, poised to elevate the driving experience for North American consumers in the new model year.

Internally, the refreshed K5 showcases a renewed commitment to minimalist design aesthetics, as evidenced by the replacement of traditional dials with the available panoramic curved display. This innovative feature seamlessly integrates two 12.3-inch displays, positioned both in front of the driver and at the center of the dashboard, offering a cohesive and visually immersive interface. Furthermore, the inclusion of wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard across all trim levels ensures seamless connectivity and convenience for occupants.

Incorporating the latest advancements in connected technology, the updated K5 debuts Kia's new Connected Car Navigation Cockpit system, boasting enhanced speed and fluidity compared to its predecessor. Designed for intuitive operation, this system provides quick access to controls via touchscreen interface, with the added benefit of over-the-air updates to ensure continued optimization and functionality.

Enhancing safety and driver assistance features, the base model LXS trim now includes smart cruise control, park distance warning, and forward collision avoidance system as standard. Meanwhile, the EX trim, renowned as the K5's most popular variant, receives a host of premium amenities, including a Bose premium audio system, a 10-way adjustable driver's seat, Digital Key 2 functionality, a heated steering wheel, and power-folding mirrors, further elevating the driving experience for occupants.

Exterior enhancements include the introduction of the striking "Star Map LEDs" lighting signature, featuring innovative design elements that illuminate both the front and rear of the vehicle, lending the K5 a distinctly modern appearance.

Under the hood, the most significant update lies in the powertrain options. While the GT model retains its potent 2.5-liter turbocharged engine, delivering 290 hp and 422 Nm of torque, the standard model receives a new naturally aspirated 2.5-liter inline-four engine. This engine variant offers a sensible 191 hp, representing an increase of 11 horsepower compared to its predecessor, albeit with a slight reduction in torque from 264 Nm to 245 Nm.
