Skoda has added a new sporty option to its Superb lineup with the introduction of the Sportline trim. This new version is available in both Hatch and Combi (estate) styles and is designed for those who want a sportier look while still enjoying the comfort and practicality of the Superb. The Sportline comes with updated styling, new wheels, and a lowered suspension to give it a more athletic appearance. Despite these changes, it keeps the same engine options as the standard model, with any potential boost in performance likely being saved for a possible future release of a more powerful Superb RS.
The inclusion of a Sportline trim for the Superb is consistent with Skoda's approach of offering sportier versions across most of its models. The Superb Sportline is positioned as a sportier alternative to the high-end Laurin & Klement trim, offering a similar level of premium equipment and technology but with a focus on sport-inspired design cues.
Externally, the Superb Sportline stands out with its unique styling elements. It features a black bumper extension that flows into matching side skirts and a rear diffuser, giving the car a more aggressive stance. In place of the standard chrome accents, the Sportline uses metallic black trim, complemented by tinted windows and distinct Sportline emblems. The standard 18-inch anthracite wheels can be upgraded to either 19-inch Torcular alloys or 19-inch Aniara wheels with aerodynamic covers, enhancing the vehicle's sporty aesthetics. Additionally, the Superb Sportline is equipped with advanced LED Matrix headlights and LED taillights with animated turn signals, adding a modern touch to its exterior design.
Inside, the Superb Sportline offers a refined and sporty interior. The standard heated sports seats come with integrated headrests and a massage function, while there is also an option for AGR-certified ergonomic sports seats that are electrically adjustable, heated, and ventilated for added comfort. The cabin maintains a dark and sporty theme with Microsuede and artificial leather upholstery, a black roof lining, and carbon-style inserts on the dashboard and door panels. Other interior features include stainless steel pedals and a steering wheel adorned with the Sportline badge, reinforcing the sporty character of the trim.
The Superb Sportline comes well-equipped with a range of standard features, such as a 10-inch Virtual Cockpit with unique graphics tailored to the Sportline trim, a 13-inch infotainment display, customizable ambient lighting, and laminated glass for enhanced sound insulation, ensuring a quiet and comfortable ride.
In terms of performance, the Sportline trim benefits from a sports chassis that lowers the car by 15 mm compared to the standard Superb, offering a more dynamic driving experience. This is complemented by progressive steering and the option for a dynamic chassis control system, which allows drivers to adjust the suspension settings for different driving conditions.

The Superb Sportline is available with the full range of Skoda's powertrain options, from the entry-level 1.5 eTSI mild-hybrid and 2.0 TDI diesel engines, which produce 148 hp, to the more powerful 2.0 TSI gasoline engine that delivers up to 261 hp. This range of powertrains allows customers to choose a version that best matches their performance preferences while enjoying the sporty aesthetics of the Sportline trim.
There are also rumors that Skoda is developing a high-performance Superb RS model, which could feature a more powerful plug-in hybrid powertrain. Although this model has not been officially confirmed, Skoda UK recently revealed a one-off Sleeper Edition of the previous-generation Superb Combi, equipped with a 2.0 TSI engine tuned to produce an impressive 470 hp. This suggests that Skoda is exploring more powerful and sport-focused variants of the Superb, potentially paving the way for the introduction of the Superb RS in the future.
