Cadillac has recently introduced the Optiq in the Chinese market, positioning it as the brand's latest electric crossover entry-level model, situated below the Lyriq. The vehicle offers two distinct powertrain options to cater to varying consumer needs. The standard range variant is equipped with a 68.4 kWh battery pack, delivering an impressive range of 536 km in the CLTC cycle. Powered by a front-mounted motor generating 241 hp and 330 Nm of torque, the crossover accelerates from 0-100 km/h in a respectable 7 seconds, reaching a top speed of 180 km/h.
For those seeking enhanced performance and extended driving range, there is also a long-range variant available. This model boasts a larger 79.7 kWh battery pack, providing a range of 600 km. Additionally, it features a dual-motor all-wheel drive system producing 283 hp and 465 Nm of torque. Thanks to its superior power and traction, the long-range Optiq accelerates from 0-100 km/h in under six seconds.
Charging convenience is also a priority for Cadillac, with a fast charger capable of replenishing the battery from 20% to 80% in just 33 minutes. At home, a 7.2 kW charger can fully recharge the standard range variant in 10.8 hours, while the long-range variant requires 12.8 hours.
While the design of the Optiq may not be groundbreaking, it boasts a unique black crystal grille adorned with 114 integrated lights. These lights synchronize with the turn signals and headlights, creating an eye-catching choreographed lighting sequence similar to its larger sibling.
In terms of features, the Optiq is equipped with rain-sensing wipers, flush-mounted door handles, and a panoramic glass roof. Additional amenities such as a power liftgate and a black roof option on the range-topping variant enhance its appeal.
