Porsche Plans On Cheaper Electric Car, The Competition Gets Harder

The battle of electric cars, becomes more restrict. Tesla in USA has its market and sales its electric vehicles, on the other hand in the ancient continent, China reveals the cheapest electric cars ever. To be successful in this market, you should have competitive strategy which Porsche is planning into it. its going to be a new electric car, based on Taycan, but much cheaper. Its going to steal fans heart.

As Autocar reports, Porsche is planning on a seventh model line which could compete with Tesla Model 3 and BMW i4. It seems that the style of this new car, is related to Audi’s A$ E-Tron. Actually, its PPE platform which is done by Porsche and Audi and also used for Taycan.

There is not much details about this new EV, but its could be the same Cajun, introduced by company in 2011. The new vehicle but, would join the market before 2025. What Autocar believes, the new car would share the same driveline and battery components with the upcoming Macan EV. It is claimed that:

“The modular nature of the PPE platform will allow us to extend our electric car line-up with a range of different models. It is engineered for standard and high ground clearance. A second sedan [saloon] model is one possibility.”

Already, Audi and Porsche have close cooperation with the Macan, Q5, hybrid models of Cayenne, and Q7. By considering this background, mightily Porsche offers single-motor rear-wheel-drive and dual-motor four-wheel-drive powertrains.

The in-charged site is not yet be chosen, but probably, Leipzig as the main base of Porsche handle the new development. There is also some news about electric Cayenne. If you worry about the 911, it keeps its combustion engine at least till end of this decade, but there will be a hybrid powertrain for sure.
