Mercedes-Benz EQG Concept Revealed As An Electric G-Class

Author: |

The EQG Concept was formally revealed by Mercedes-Benz at the 2021 IAA Mobility Show in Munich. This SUV serves as a teaser for the G-future Class's completely electrified version.

The EQG Concept appears to be fairly near to production in terms of design since it keeps most of the body panels of the newest generation G-Class while integrating EQ design elements such as the lighted completely covered grille.

The roof-mounted LED bars, lighted side guards, and 22-inch alloy wheels are all standard on the EQG Concept.

Mercedes did not provide many specifics about the electric powertrain because the vehicle is still in development. It did, however, disclose that it is still built on the ladder frame of the G-Class.

The vehicle will also have independent suspension in the front and a stiff axle in the back.

Mercedes says that the EQG will have a climbing capacity of up to 100 percent due to the e-motors immediate torque and the shiftable 2-speed gearbox.

We don't yet have a set date for the release of the EQG's production version.
