Mazda officially confirmed power outputs for the most powerful version of Mazda 3 hatchback. The new Mazda 3 hatchback uses a 2.5-liter turbocharged four cylinder engine. The petrol powertrain can pump out 227 hp and 420 NM of torque. Power sent to all four wheels with a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
The power and torque number for Mazda 3 turbo is the same as Mazda 6, CX-5 and CX-9. Mazda claimed that its high torque to power ratio makes the Mazda 3 turbo a perfect choice for daily driving and it is not only a sport performance car.
For comparison, the nearest rival for Mazda 3 turbo is Volkswagen Golf R with 285 hp and 380 NM of torque.
Mazda 3 with turbocharged engine will soon enter the global market.
