Maxus D90 is a new SUV from the Chinese automaker SAIC group and now the automobile giant is going to produce a flagship pickup based on the D90 SUV. The new upgraded pickup is called Maxus T90 and it is expected to reveal on April 19 in Shanghai. It is also expected to go on sale in global markets as the previous Maxus flagship pickup T70 showed up outside China as well.
Designwise, the Maxus T90 has an aggressive design with its giant grille and Maxus lettering on it. The lights are so slim and give a pickup a more sporty look. At the rear, the design is still distinct with a light bar that is not common in the pickup world.
About the interior for now there is no picture but it is expected for the T90 to have a modern and technology-oriented cabin. SAIC motor revealed a concept pickup recently but we can’t confirm that the T90 will uses the same interior as the concept car.
Maxus T90 is going to use two different engines that are both four-cylinder. The first model uses a 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine with 218 hp and 500 nm of torque connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission supplied by ZF. The torque figure of the diesel engine has increased by 20 nm compared to the Maxus T70 as it has 480 nm of torque. The petrol model has a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine with 218 hp and 350 nm of torque. There is a possibility of seeing a hybrid or an electric version of the Maxus T90.
