For anyone who ever thought the Mahindra BE 6 electric SUV looked like it had a touch of the Batmobile in its design, Mahindra has now confirmed that suspicion with a very special release. The company has officially unveiled the Mahindra BE 6 Batman Edition, which it proudly calls “the world’s first commercially available Batman-inspired SUV.” Production will be capped at 300 units, and it will be sold exclusively in India, making it both rare and highly collectible.
This limited-run version has been created in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, the same entertainment giant that partnered with Mahindra for its Pininfarina special projects last year. However, while Pininfarina models cater to the ultra-luxury segment, this Batman Edition is designed to be far more accessible, bringing the superhero aesthetic to a mainstream electric SUV rather than an unattainable hypercar.
Although the cinematic franchise has since shifted to Matt Reeves’ The Batman with Robert Pattinson, Mahindra’s edition takes inspiration from Christopher Nolan’s acclaimed Dark Knight Trilogy, where Christian Bale played the caped crusader. The influence is immediately clear in the vehicle’s menacing exterior.
The BE 6 Batman Edition wears a custom Satin Black paint scheme, enhanced with glossy black trim for added drama. Its most striking detail is the Batman decal on the front doors, paired with a gold bat emblem on the front fenders. Mahindra’s design team didn’t stop there—gold continues on the suspension springs and brake calipers, which peek through bold 20-inch alloy wheels. Subtle touches for die-hard fans include additional bat symbols on the wheel hub caps, rear bumper, glass surfaces, and even the rear windshield. A Batman Edition badge sits on the rear door cladding, while unique puddle lamps project the iconic Bat-Signal onto the ground at night. Perhaps the most eye-catching design flourish is the Infinity Roof, which features an illuminated Bat emblem from Nolan’s trilogy embedded into the glass.
Inside, the superhero theme is just as immersive. The cabin is dressed in a mix of black suede and leather upholstery, accented by gold stitching and highlights throughout. The bat logo makes appearances on the seats, dashboard trim, door straps, and interior labeling. Even the digital cockpit greets drivers with Batman-themed welcome graphics. To emphasize exclusivity, each car comes with a “Brushed Alchemy Gold Batman Edition” plaque, individually numbered and mounted on the center console.
Performance-wise, this edition builds on the most powerful BE 6 variant. It uses a rear-mounted electric motor producing 282 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque, paired with a 79 kWh battery that provides up to 550 km of range (WLTP). To complete the experience, Mahindra has equipped the SUV with specially tuned “Batman-inspired” exterior sound effects, ensuring it feels as dramatic as it looks—almost as if it were chasing down Gotham’s villains.
Pricing begins at around $27,200, which is only about $1,000 more than the standard BE 6, making it surprisingly attainable for such a unique special edition. Orders open on August 23, with deliveries timed to coincide with International Batman Day on September 20—a clever nod for those fans who might be tempted to wear a cape when collecting their keys. With just 300 units planned, the BE 6 Batman Edition is set to become a collector’s item that brings the Dark Knight’s aura to Indian roads.
