Land Rover has rolled out an array of updates for the 2025 iteration of its Defender SUV lineup, with a primary focus on elevating its luxury and comfort attributes alongside the introduction of a more potent diesel engine. Notable enhancements include the availability of a Signature Interior Pack featuring premium amenities across the entire range, the option of captain chairs for the 130 variant, and the debut of a special Sedona edition for the 110 model.

Since its debut in 2019, the new generation of the iconic Defender has enjoyed remarkable success for Land Rover. While a conventional facelift has yet to materialize, the comprehensive updates for the 2025 model year signify a significant step towards aligning it with the opulent Range Rover in terms of available features.

The 2025 Land Rover Defender streamlines its lineup, comprising the S, X-Dynamic SE, X-Dynamic HSE, X, and V8 trims, all available across the three body styles: 90, 110, and 130. While the exterior design remains largely unchanged, the focus of the updates is directed towards enhancing the interior cabin experience. Noteworthy is the introduction of the Defender 110 Sedona Edition, a limited-edition variant for one year, featuring a distinctive specification inspired by the rugged terrain of the Arizona desert. This edition boasts a striking Sedona Red exterior hue complemented by unique hood decals, 22-inch Gloss Black alloy wheels, and the Extended Black Pack for exterior accents.

Internally, the new Signature Interior Pack is an optional addition for the Dynamic HSE trim, while it comes standard on the Defender X, V8, and Sedona Edition. This pack introduces climate-controlled seats for both rows, complete with redesigned winged headrests. Additionally, the front seats offer 14-way electric adjustability with memory functions, while the third-row seats in the Defender 130 are equipped with heating elements.

The cabin ambiance is further enhanced with a blend of Windsor Leather and Kvadrat upholstery, accentuated by Ultrafabrics and Suedecloth headlining, alongside darker interior accents to augment the premium feel. Notable interior updates include new storage pockets on both sides of the center console, providing convenient storage solutions for the driver and front passenger.

For the Defender 130 variant, the Signature Interior Pack can be combined with the Captain Chairs Pack, transforming the seating configuration from an eight-seater to a more spacious seven-seater layout. This configuration includes two individual seats in the second row, complete with heating and cooling functions, enhancing comfort for extended journeys. Moreover, the aisle between these seats facilitates easier access to the rear third-row seats.

In the United States, buyers will experience fewer upgrades compared to their European, UK, and Australian counterparts, as the diesel powertrain option and the Signature Interior Pack are not available in North America. However, US-spec Defenders do benefit from the simplified lineup, bundled options, and the availability of the Captain Chairs Pack for the Defender 130.

Under the hood, the Defender D350 variant boasts a mild-hybrid 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel engine, delivering 345 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque, akin to its counterpart in the Range Rover. This represents a significant increase of 49 horsepower and 50 Nm compared to the outgoing D300, promising a more effortless driving experience for overtaking and towing tasks.

The 2025 Land Rover Defender is now open for orders in the UK, Europe, and Australian markets, with North American availability slated to follow shortly. Later in the year, the Defender lineup will be enriched with a new V8-powered off-road flagship variant bearing the Octa moniker.
