Kia Motors America announced its January sales statistics and as these data show, the North American arm of the Korean automaker experienced the best ever January sales.
Kia Motors America said that they could manage to sell 44,965 units in January which is 11.4 percent more than the same period of time last year. This is the best ever January sale in automakers history.
It turned out that Kia Motors sales were boosted by its new SUVs like Telluride and Niro EV while the market showed a good response to the new Forte sedan that is known as the Cerato in some markets.
66.7 percent of Kia’s sale in America is dominated by its new SUVs like Niro, Soul, Seltos, Sportage, Sorento, Telluride, and Sedona. This share of sales increased 18.3 percent compared to the past.
“After outpacing the industry in historic fashion in 2020, Kia’s upward trajectory and positive momentum continued with record-breaking January sales, With five all-new and significantly redesigned vehicles slated for introduction this year we are confident this trend will continue in the first quarter and beyond.” said Sean Yoon, president, and CEO, Kia Motors North America.
