Huawei first introduced the Maextro S800 last year, and now the company is giving the public a closer look at its incredibly luxurious interior. Unsurprisingly, the cabin design takes significant inspiration from the lavish interiors of brands like Mercedes-Maybach and Rolls-Royce.
The driver’s seat is designed with an elegant two-tone steering wheel, and the cockpit features a floating display, reminiscent of the MBUX Hyperscreen found in high-end Mercedes-Benz models. Although exact dimensions haven’t been disclosed, the system's layout includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 17.7-inch infotainment screen, and a 12.3-inch display for the front passenger.
The Mercedes-Maybach influence is apparent throughout, with stylish metal speaker grilles that closely resemble the high-quality Burmester audio systems typically found in premium models. In addition, there are familiar door-mounted seat controls, further enhancing the luxury feel of the cabin. The vehicle also boasts digital side mirror displays, a dual wireless smartphone charging station, and an array of wood trim accents on the center console. A stylish rotary knob and metallic finishes add to the sophisticated interior. The combination of leather and suede-like upholstery creates an even more luxurious atmosphere inside the cabin.
While the driver’s area is impressive, the rear passenger compartment truly stands out as the star of the show. This section features two individually adjustable rear seats, complete with power adjustments and a footrest. The front passenger seat is designed to slide out of the way, allowing rear passengers to fully relax and enjoy the journey. Between the seats is an elegant console made of leather and wood, which includes deployable tray tables, a champagne flute holder, and a retractable drawer for added convenience. The cabin also has a refrigerated compartment, along with a rear-seat entertainment system, ensuring comfort and entertainment for passengers. The headliner above the rear seats is adorned with a starry design, drawing inspiration from Rolls-Royce’s signature feature. Additionally, door-mounted screens, similar to those found in the BMW 7-Series, are included for added luxury.
The Maextro S800 is expected to launch later this year, measuring 5,480 mm in length with a wheelbase of 3,370 mm. This makes it slightly longer than the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, though it has a shorter wheelbase by 25 mm. According to reports, the vehicle will be available with an electric powertrain, featuring a 94.4 kWh battery pack, which will deliver a range of 670 km to 702 km under the China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC). An extended-range version with a smaller 63.3 kWh battery is also expected, offering electric-only ranges between 258 km and 311 km.
Pricing for the Maextro S800 is anticipated to start at ¥1 million ($137,230), which is relatively affordable compared to competitors like the Mercedes-Maybach S480, which starts at $203,100 in China.
