Genesis Update Its Lineup Alongside Price Hike

Genesis has unveiled the latest updates for its lineup in the upcoming model year, introducing a host of changes that span both equipment enhancements and pricing adjustments.

Beginning with the 2024 iteration of the Genesis G80, a significant reshuffling of the lineup has occurred. Notably, the discontinuation of the 2.5T RWD Base, Advanced, and Sport Prestige trims has been offset by the continuation of the 3.5T AWD variant, now featuring added standard amenities such as a WiFi hotspot, Advanced Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, and Highway Driving Assist 2. The introduction of a new Sport Advanced package and the availability of a Bond Silver Matte paint option offer further customization options. However, it's worth mentioning that the removal of power closing doors from the 3.5T AWD and the streamlining of paint color choices, with Valencia Gold, Verbier Matte White, and Siberian Ice being phased out, mark notable departures from the previous lineup.

Pricing for the G80 now begins at $54,400 for the 2.5T AWD Standard and $64,250 for the 3.5T AWD Sport, reflecting a notable uptick compared to the preceding model year.

Meanwhile, changes to the Electrified G80 are comparatively subtler, with the introduction of the previously announced Advanced trim being the most significant update. Starting at $74,375, this variant now boasts leather seats, white calipers, and a Wi-Fi hotspot as standard features across the board.

Transitioning to the 2024 G90, the latest enhancements include dynamic welcome lighting, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and upgraded rear 'easy close doors,' albeit at a slightly higher starting price of $89,200 compared to the previous year.

In the crossover domain, the 2024 GV60 sees the addition of a rear-wheel drive variant, now priced at $52,000, offering a more affordable alternative to the Advanced AWD trim. Noteworthy improvements include extra airbags and the inclusion of a Wi-Fi hotspot for enhanced connectivity.

Over in the GV70 lineup, both the 2.5T AWD and 3.5T AWD variants have received noteworthy updates. The former now boasts 19-inch wheels with monobloc front brakes, while the Sport Prestige variant gains a suite of premium features including ventilated front seats, manual rear door shades, remote smart parking assist, and a Lexicon premium audio system. On the other hand, the 3.5T AWD variant now comes standard with Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist 2 and Highway Driving Assist 2 systems, alongside a Wi-Fi hotspot across all trims. These enhancements, however, come at a cost, with pricing now starting at $45,150, representing a $2,000 increase compared to the previous model year.

The Electrified GV70 has also received some upgrades, including the addition of a Wi-Fi hotspot and a revamped color palette, with pricing now starting at $66,450, reflecting a $600 increase.

Lastly, the 2024 GV80 sees the incorporation of a Wi-Fi hotspot and additional amenities on the 3.5T AWD variant, such as a standard power folding third-row and a tire mobility kit. However, the discontinuation of exterior color options like Brunswick Green and Cardiff Green signals a shift in aesthetic direction. Pricing for the GV80 now commences at $57,700, a modest increase of $250. Nonetheless, consumers may wish to await the arrival of the facelifted 2025 model for further improvements and updates.
