Geely Unveils Panda Mini EV Go Kart Edition

Geely has unveiled an updated rendition of the Panda Mini EV tailored for urban settings in China, dubbed the Panda Mini EV Go Kart Edition. This variant boasts a motorsport-inspired exterior makeover and a distinct livery. Despite its visually striking appearance, the Go Kart Edition maintains the same power and chassis specifications as the standard model.

The standout features of this special edition include a roof-mounted wing and an eye-catching livery reminiscent of the Fast and Furious franchise. The front end showcases a redesigned bumper with enlarged intakes and a prominent splitter, accompanied by small fins adorning the hood. Fender extensions house 14-inch wheels and are complemented by deeper side skirts and faux side gills on the doors. The vehicle is offered in white, black, or gray, accented with vibrant pink graphics.

The factory-installed aerodynamic enhancements result in an increased overall length of 3,150 mm, marking an 85 mm extension compared to the base model. Additionally, the Go Kart Edition widens by 18 mm due to fender moldings and gains 85 mm in height owing to the wing, while maintaining the standard 2,015 mm wheelbase.

However, while the exterior exudes a sporty vibe, the interior remains unchanged, retaining its stock configuration. Salmon-colored plastics adorn the cabin, with white patches on the seat upholstery resembling a beauty salon ambiance. The dashboard houses the familiar 8-inch infotainment touchscreen and elongated 9.2-inch digital instrument cluster.

Despite its sporty appearance, the Panda Mini EV Go Kart Edition does not offer enhanced power or a more dynamic chassis setup. It retains the same single electric motor generating 40 hp and 110 Nm of torque, with two driving modes available: normal and sport.

Although Geely has not disclosed detailed specifications for this special edition, the standard Panda Mini EV features a 17.03 kWh battery pack, enabling a range of up to 200 km under CLTC protocols.

Information regarding pricing and availability for the sporty-looking EV will be revealed at a later stage, with confirmation that it will be exclusively available to Chinese customers. Anticipated to be priced within the existing range of $4,134-7,867, the Go Kart edition will join the lineup alongside the regular Panda Mini EV, the crossover-style Panda Knight, as well as the Yellow Duck and Dragon special editions.
