G-Power has recently introduced a range of performance and aesthetic enhancements for the second-generation BMW M2, making it the latest in a line of tuners to put their stamp on this high-performance vehicle. This German tuning company has focused on both visual improvements and substantial performance upgrades, addressing some of the original M2’s design criticisms and pushing the boundaries of its engine capabilities.
To address the M2’s controversial design, G-Power has added several new visual elements. One of the most notable upgrades is the addition of carbon fiber intake shrouds to the front bumper. G-Power is also in the process of developing a carbon fiber hood, although images of this new part have not yet been released. Additionally, the BMW M2 now features aftermarket wheels offered in two distinct designs. These wheels measure 20 inches in width at the front and 21 inches at the rear, fitted with 285/30 and 295/25 tires, respectively. Complementing the wheels, G-Power has installed a fixed carbon fiber rear wing, a carbon fiber diffuser, and a bold quad tailpipe setup, which all contribute to a more aggressive and sporty appearance. The car also sports a carbon lip spoiler sourced from BMW M’s Performance Parts catalog.
The real excitement, however, lies under the hood. The M2’s 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged six-cylinder engine, known as the S58B30, is highly responsive to tuning modifications. G-Power has developed three different performance upgrade packages for this engine. The entry-level upgrade increases the engine's output from the standard 453 horsepower and 550 Nm of torque to an impressive 592 horsepower and 720 Nm of torque. A more advanced option pushes the engine to produce 641 horsepower and 780 Nm of torque, achieved through the addition of a new exhaust system and downpipes. For those seeking ultimate performance, G-Power’s flagship package delivers a staggering 690 horsepower and 840 Nm of torque, a level of power that significantly outstrips even the BMW M8.
The BMW M2 has attracted attention from other tuners as well. In July, Dahler introduced a Stage 2 performance package that elevates the car’s output to 621 horsepower and 750 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, Extreme Customs has recently made modifications to the M2, enhancing its design and boosting the engine's output to 544 horsepower. These various tuning options highlight the ongoing interest in maximizing the M2’s potential, each offering a unique approach to improving performance and style.
