Formula One World Champion is going to occur soon in Bahrain and Cars are getting ready for he races. But its not just the racing cars are getting ready, also the other supplement vehicles should be ready for this event. And now in a very unusual occasion, Aston Martin cars are the Official F1 Safety, Medical Cars for the 2021.
Since 1996, no automakers dared to rase hand to take the Mercedes-Benz seat at FIA. But 2021, this season, the British company is joint the group. But don’t get panic there is still Mercedes-AMG as a part of safety and medical cars. The Aston Martin Vantage and DBX are the chosen vehicles. Vantage is the Formula 1 safety car and DBX as the first SUV of this company, the Medical car. both of this vehicle has the same twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter Mercedes-AMG M177 V8 engine. There is always a Mercedes.
The prepared cars for the F1, has the Racing Green team color of the Aston Martin Cognizant Formula One Team. But the Lime Green accents on the body will be added too. Other specification like the roof-mounted LED light-bar and the FIA markings, along with chassis and aerodynamic improvements are the permanent changes too. Bernd Mayländer, the FIA's appointed driver and Richard Darker, the former race driver has the responsibility of the safety car and Alan van der Merwe will be at the helm of the medical car.
The Vantage safety car needed more power to handle this duty. So, the powertrain output is increased to 528 hp and it delivers 685 Nm of torque to the wheels. Also, the DBX has 542 hp and 700 Nm. These Aston Martins will go on test three-day pre-season test in March. Later, they join the opening round of the FIA Formula One World Championship.
