2021, Chevy wants to unveil Chevrolet Tahoe and Chevrolet Suburban, but they aren’t just like the old one. These to big SUVs would be redesigned. of course, the main platform of them are GM’s T1 and also, they share similar powertrains too but they definitely don’t share same results on the Streets. Fast Lane Car arranged a special drag race between these huge SUVs to challenge their capacities.
Let’s take a quick look at under the hood of Tahoe 2021. This cars power is supplied by 5.3-liter V8 with the output of 355 hp (264 kW) power and 519 Nm (383) torque. This car has the GM’s new 10-spped automatic transmission.
Suburban with comparing with his sister, Tahoe, considered to be the car with bigger engine. This car has 6.2-liter V8 with the output of 402 hp (299 kW) and 632 Nm (460 lb-ft) torque. Suburban has also 10-speed automatic gearbox. But on the other hand, this car is a bit heavier than Tahoe, which could be maybe a disadvantage.

When you watch the race, in the first race, Tahoe leads at the first of the line but later it is the Suburban, which crosses the finish line first. For the second round, although drivers drive the other car, but the results are the same.it seems that the power of the Suburban’s engine, overcame the weight. The video also presents the 0 to 60 seconds hit too. Tahoe completed the both of the runs in 9.73 seconds but Suburban’s records for each run were 8.75 and 9.52 seconds. It should be assumed that the race happened one mile above the sea level.
By the way, if you would like to challenge Suburban again, take a 6.2- liter V8 Tahoe into the race. maybe the results could be something else. To sum up, if you are a fan of drag racing, there are plenty of cars which are faster and cheaper to supply. These two cars are in the category of expensive cars. The Tahoe Z71 package, which was used in the race, costs $ 86,000 and Suburban High Country has a price of $83,000.
