Chery has refreshed its latest SUV offering for Australia, unveiling the updated 2025 Tiggo 4 with significant design revisions but without any increase in price. Previously known as the Tiggo 4 Pro, the model has now officially dropped the "Pro" designation, simplifying its name to just Tiggo 4. Along with this branding change, the vehicle has received a number of visual enhancements, primarily at the rear.
Interestingly, this updated rear styling, including a full-width LED tail-light bar and prominent 'CHERY' lettering across the back, had already been available in overseas markets but was initially skipped for the Australian release around six months ago. Despite these changes arriving early in 2025, Chery has classified the revamped model as a Model Year 2026 (MY26) vehicle, aligning with industry practices of forward-model designation.
Chery has also introduced new wheel options for the Tiggo 4, offering redesigned 17- and 18-inch alloy wheels depending on the specific trim level. However, the front design, including the grille and headlights, remains unchanged from the earlier version.
In terms of pricing, the entry-level Urban variant continues to be priced at an attractive $23,990 drive-away. This version now gains additional features such as front parking sensors for added convenience and safety, and an upgraded six-speaker sound system, replacing the older four-speaker setup. At the premium end of the lineup, the Ultimate variant retains its $26,990 drive-away price tag but receives notable tech upgrades. These include the addition of wireless phone charging and multi-color ambient interior lighting, along with the same new front parking sensors now found in the Urban model.
Beyond these updates, the standard features list remains comprehensive. All versions of the Tiggo 4 come equipped with LED headlights, a dual 10.25-inch digital display setup inside, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and a wide range of advanced driver assistance and safety technologies.
Under the bonnet, the Tiggo 4 continues to be powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine, delivering 108kW of power and 210Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) and drives the front wheels. Due to a slight increase in the vehicle’s weight with the new updates, claimed fuel consumption has risen slightly from 7.3 to 7.4 litres per 100 kilometres.
Chery also has plans to further expand the Tiggo 4 lineup later this year, with the addition of a hybrid variant that promises to offer buyers an even more fuel-efficient option.
