The pre-sale price range of iCar's 03 pure electric hardcore SUV, which is between 140,000 and 190,000 yuan, or 19,400 and 26,350 USD, was revealed at the 2023 Guangzhou Auto Show.
Chery's new energy vehicle brand, iCar, was introduced earlier this year and is targeted at young adults seeking new careers in the 25–35 age range. The brand's initial model is the 03 model.
The iCar 03, which was constructed using Chery's S5X electric aluminum platform, has a boxy shape and intelligent four-wheel drive. The vehicle has four curb weights of 1679 kg, 1775 kg, 1800 kg, and 1892 kg. Its dimensions are 4406 mm long by 1910 m wide by 1715 mm tall with a 2715 mm wheelbase.
According to Chery, the iCAR 03 has solar panels on the roof and in the front that act as an onboard solar power generation component to supply extra electrical energy. The iCar 03 features a side-opening tailgate and an external spare tire storage compartment on the back.
The interior uses a color scheme that matches black and green. Chery states that a virtual human assistant can provide a more "humanized in-depth communication and entertainment interaction" through the device's 15.4-inch central control screen, which has an integrated i-VA intelligent interaction system.
Other options include an Infinity 12-speaker audio system, wireless charging for cell phones, and safety features like an electronic stability program, electronic brakeforce distribution, and an anti-lock braking system.
The four-wheel drive version has two motors with a maximum power of 95 horsepower and 183 horsepower, respectively, while the two-wheel drive version has a single 183 horsepower electric motor. Official timing is 6.5 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h. With capacities of 65 kWh and 69 kWh, the lithium iron phosphate battery pack from CATL offers an official 500 km cruising range. Additionally, 8 + X all-road driving modes—such as those for mud, sand, gravel, and snow—are supported.
Additionally, the car is equipped with either 18- or 19-inch wheels. With an approach angle of 26 degrees and a departure angle of 29 degrees, the iCar 03 is a hardcore SUV. Moreover, Chery asserts that using the Shanghai region as an example, car-mounted solar panels might give automobiles a year-round range of more than 2,000 kilometers.
There is the option of two-wheel drive or four-wheel drive. On December 18, the pre-sale will formally begin, and delivery will take place right away.
