Cadillac is poised to unveil a redesigned version of its popular XT5 SUV, following the initial reveal of its updated look by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. Recent images offer a glimpse into the vehicle’s interior, building anticipation for its official launch.
The new XT5 boasts a larger frame than its predecessor, stretching an additional 72 millimeters in length. This expanded footprint accommodates a range of enhancements, including powerful six-piston Brembo brakes and a 227 horsepower, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine.
The XT5’s exterior design has already been unveiled, showcasing a bold and assertive aesthetic. A prominent, wide grille takes center stage, flanked by distinctive split headlights. The SUV's sculpted bodywork features sharp lines and a pronounced shoulder line, creating a dynamic profile. To heighten the sense of modern elegance, the design incorporates a blacked-out rear pillar that gives the illusion of a floating roof.
While the rear of the vehicle remains partially obscured in available images, previous releases have hinted at a stylish liftgate, prominent taillights, and subtle aerodynamic elements such as a roof-mounted spoiler and a discreet crest.
The XT5's interior is a testament to Cadillac's commitment to luxury and technology. Drawing inspiration from the brand's electric Lyriq model, the SUV features a striking 33-inch curved display that dominates the dashboard. Familiar elements include the steering wheel and door-mounted seat controls, seamlessly integrated into the modern cabin layout.
A wide expanse of dark wood trim adds a touch of warmth and sophistication to the dashboard, while a floating center console contributes to the spacious and uncluttered feel. The attention to detail is evident in the stylish speaker grilles and dedicated climate controls. Cadillac promises an elevated level of comfort with Eames-inspired seats and a customizable 126-color ambient lighting system. Premium materials, such as Nappa leather, are also incorporated throughout the cabin. To accommodate passengers and their belongings, the XT5 offers a generous cargo capacity of 653 liters. This ample space ensures practicality without compromising style.
With its combination of striking design, advanced technology, and luxurious amenities, the redesigned Cadillac XT5 is poised to captivate drivers seeking a premium SUV experience.
