Inside, the Song Pro DM-i showcases BYD's contemporary design language, drawing inspiration from the Dynasty series, evident in models like the Qin L sedan and the Song L DM-i SUV. The cabin is dominated by a large, centrally mounted floating touchscreen, complemented by a smaller LCD instrument cluster for driver information. A unique four-spoke D-shaped steering wheel, emblazoned with the Song logo, completes the driver-centric design.

The center console features a sophisticated retractable crystal gear shifter surrounded by conveniently placed physical controls. Two wireless phone charging pads and a pair of cup holders enhance convenience for occupants. A spacious compartment beneath the center tunnel provides ample storage space.

Passenger comfort is prioritized with a center headrest and armrest for the second-row occupants, ensuring a more relaxed and enjoyable journey. Independent air vents and charging ports further enhance the passenger experience. The inclusion of a sizeable panoramic sunroof visually expands the cabin, creating a sense of spaciousness and openness. The interior is tastefully finished in a sophisticated black-beige color scheme.

Powering the Song Pro DM-i is BYD's advanced 5th-generation DM system. This hybrid powertrain combines a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine generating 99 horsepower with a potent 215-horsepower synchronous permanent magnet electric motor. The vehicle offers a choice of two LFP batteries sourced from FinDreams, BYD's battery subsidiary. The smaller battery pack boasts a capacity of 13 kWh, while the larger option provides a capacity of 18.3 kWh, resulting in an impressive pure electric range of 60-91 kilometers.

The second-generation BYD Song Pro DM-i is poised to make its market debut in the fourth quarter of 2024, with an anticipated price range of $15,400 to $21,000. Given the immense popularity of the current model, which has achieved impressive sales figures of 158,345 units from January to August of this year, the new Song Pro DM-i is expected to further solidify BYD's position as a leading player in the Chinese automotive market.
