BYD’s sub-brand Fang Cheng Bao has officially expanded its Tai 3 (FCB Ti3) lineup with a new Ultra version featuring rear-wheel drive and a 501 km range, priced at $20,800. This latest addition emphasizes personalization, performance, and advanced technology, making it a standout choice in the competitive compact electric vehicle segment.
One of the most noticeable updates is the introduction of two new exterior colours: Micro Light Pink and Ice Crystal Blue. These fresh paint options allow buyers to express their personal style and stand out on the road. Additionally, the four-wheel drive drone version of the Tai 3 has received configuration upgrades, now offering the BYD intelligent vehicle-mounted drone system as an optional feature. The Ultra variant also introduces an exclusive illuminated layered logo, giving the car a modern and futuristic aesthetic.
Practicality and convenience have been key focuses in this new version. The front trunk can now be unlocked and opened electrically, streamlining everyday use. Inside the cabin, the Ultra version includes a range of exclusive features such as a dedicated Fang Cheng Bao microphone, a built-in flashlight, and a refrigerator, catering to comfort and utility during trips. The audio system has been significantly upgraded with a Dynaudio 14-speaker setup, delivering a premium listening experience. Additionally, compared to the mid-range 501 km rear-wheel drive Max version, the Ultra variant adds the DiSus-C intelligent damping body control system, enhancing ride quality and handling stability.
In terms of performance, the Tai 3 501 km RWD Ultra continues to rely on a rear-mounted electric motor producing a maximum output of 160 kW (214 hp). This powertrain enables the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds, offering a responsive and dynamic driving experience. The vehicle achieves a CLTC-rated pure electric range of 501 km, providing confidence for longer journeys, while fast-charging capabilities allow the battery to reach 30%-80% in just 18 minutes.
Fang Cheng Bao also continues to emphasize customization and personalization. The Tai 3 now offers rainbow seven-colour car wraps as part of the Super 3 trend modification solution, along with premium front trunk “electric installation” options. These choices allow owners to tailor the vehicle’s appearance and functionality to their preferences.
Moreover, the brand’s “Face Change Plan,” first announced at the Chengdu Auto Show, is progressing steadily. The Star Wars Urban front fascia is now fully available through the Fang Cheng Bao App, with the Star Wars Trend Play fascia scheduled for release in October. Customers can take advantage of face-changing services at Fang Cheng Bao 4S stores nationwide, which also provide one year of complimentary storage for the vehicle’s original front fascia, offering both convenience and flexibility for personalization enthusiasts.
