ARB Desert Pack Transforms Ford Ranger Raptor into a Desert Warrior

Author: |

The Ford Ranger Raptor is getting an even more aggressive and desert-ready edge with the introduction of a new accessory package from ARB. Dubbed the Desert Pack, this limited-edition upgrade is aimed specifically at Australian customers, with just 500 units available through Ford dealers. The package is designed to enhance both the visual appeal and off-road capability of the already rugged Ranger Raptor, making it an even more formidable presence on and off the road.

The most striking additions are roof-mounted ARB “Nacho Quatro” LED lamps, which are arranged in two pairs of two and mounted on a custom roof bar that doubles as a spoiler. These lights provide improved nighttime visibility, ideal for off-road adventures in remote areas or desert terrain. Complementing the roof lights is a matching ARB Sports Bar on the rear bed, further reinforcing the vehicle’s aggressive stance. However, these upgrades come with a few compromises. For instance, the factory power roller shutter is incompatible with the new sports bar. Owners can opt to replace it with the Real Truck Power Roller Shutter instead. Additionally, the powerful roof-mounted LEDs can interfere with DAB+ digital radio signals, but Ford’s engineers judged that the benefits of enhanced nighttime off-roading outweigh the loss of perfect radio reception.

The exterior is further distinguished by Desert Pack decals on the side panels, featuring a black-and-gray graphic design. For those who prefer a cleaner look, the decals can be removed at no extra cost. Inside the cabin, all-weather floor mats with Ford Performance branding are included to protect the interior from dirt, sand, and mud — whether or not the Raptor actually sees extreme off-road use.

Mechanically, the Ranger Raptor remains unchanged. The twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 engine continues to deliver 392 hp and 583 Nm of torque, paired with a Raptor-tuned suspension system that includes Fox 2.5-inch shock absorbers, ensuring the same legendary off-road performance.

The Desert Pack is inspired by the Ranger Raptor’s impressive track record in the Finke Desert Race, where it achieved three consecutive class wins in 2023, 2024, and 2025. The event is often described as Australia’s toughest off-road race, and the accessory package celebrates this achievement while offering practical enhancements for adventurous owners.

This package can be ordered for the 2026 Ranger Raptor, which begins production later this month. The Desert Pack adds AU$5,990 to the base Raptor price, which starts at AU$90,690 before on-road costs. For those who already own a Ranger pickup or Everest SUV, Ford Australia also offers a broad range of licensed ARB accessories, including bull bars, snorkels, underbody protection, roof racks, canopies, side steps, storage solutions, and upgraded suspension components, allowing owners to further customize and enhance their off-road machines.
