Chery has officially unveiled the first images of its all-new Tiggo 8, a mid-size SUV designed with families in mind. This fresh iteration represents a significant step forward for the popular Tiggo 8 lineup, offering a larger body, updated styling, and a practical five-seat interior arrangement. According to the company, the model is scheduled for a formal launch during the fourth quarter of this year, adding yet another option to Chery’s already diverse Tiggo 8 family.

Currently, Chery offers five different Tiggo 8 models on the Chinese market: the recently introduced Tiggo 8 Plus, the longer Tiggo 8L, the Tiggo 8 Zhuoyue Edition, the 2025 Tiggo 8 Pro, and the Tiggo 8 Plus CD-M. Among them, the Tiggo 8 Zhuoyue Edition has been one of the more accessible options, priced between 109,900 and 119,900 yuan (roughly $15,400 to $16,800). This edition is powered by a 1.5TCI turbocharged engine that generates 154 horsepower and 230 Nm of torque, delivering a balance of efficiency and capability suitable for everyday driving.

For the upcoming model, Chery plans to give customers two distinct front fascia options to better suit personal preferences. The first design echoes the current Tiggo 8 Plus, with split-style headlights and a bold polygonal grille arranged in an X-shaped matrix. The second approach uses a single integrated headlight unit paired with a diamond-pattern polygonal grille, giving the SUV a sleeker, more unified look. At the rear, designers have implemented modern touches, including a full-width taillight bar stretching across the tailgate, the Chery English-letter badge positioned above it, and a dual exhaust outlet setup, emphasizing both sportiness and refinement.

In terms of dimensions, the new Tiggo 8 has grown compared to its predecessor. It now measures 4,749 mm in length, 1,880 mm in width, and 1,710 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,825 mm. This means the SUV is 27 mm longer, 20 mm wider, and 35 mm shorter in height than the outgoing model. The wheelbase increase of 115 mm, from 2,710 mm to 2,825 mm, is particularly noteworthy, as it should translate into a roomier interior with improved legroom and overall cabin comfort.

Chery has not yet disclosed the powertrain details for the new-generation Tiggo 8. However, industry watchers expect the SUV to debut with a more powerful engine option than the current lineup, potentially aligning with consumer demand for both stronger performance and improved efficiency.

With its enhanced size, modern styling updates, and expected boost in performance, the all-new Tiggo 8 appears poised to strengthen Chery’s position in the competitive mid-size SUV segment, appealing especially to families who want space, style, and versatility in one package.
