Honda Civic is one of those cars that never lets you down. This beloved sedan has been around for 50 years. And always had a high rate of sale in America. Now this beloved car is back with 2022 model. This time its modern, sportier and faster.
It was November 2020; the prototype of 11th generation of this vehicle was unveiled. The all-new 2022 Honda Civic is a modern design with a high technology, human-centered interior, and equipped with advanced active and passive safety systems. David Gardner, executive vice president of National Operations, American Honda Motor Co., Inc, sees this unique vehicle a simple and sporty styling inside and out.
By the designing of the 11th generation of Honda, engineers flowed the “Breath of Fresh air” by the concepts of previous generation Civics and also kept an eye on the original Honda design Idea “Man-Maximum, Machine-Minimum”. That means, technology and design should be in the serve of driver and passengers. The other main mean of design is a “thin and light” body design with a low hood and front fenders. By flowing this point of view engineers provided a perfect visibility along with intuitive ergonomics, extraordinary passenger volume and driver-focused technology.
What all-new 2022 Civic offers us, is an upscale styling. The windshield pillars rearward by nearly 2 inches and connects the pillar to the front wheel hub. As beltline and horizontal windowsills and door-mounted in lower position, the visibility is improved. Also, by adding some sharp curves on the edges and a smooth arc on the front and rear door, improved the beauty and modernity of this vehicle. The LED lights on the tail brought a proud look and the tail itself more aerodynamic character.
This sedan will be available in eight colors: Meteorite Gray Metallic, Sonic Gray Pearl and all-new Civic-exclusive Morning Mist Blue Metallic.
What happened inside the car, is unbelievable. This Civic is really ergonomic. More room for the passengers and thanks to the hidden windshield wipers, a panoramic view. Across the dashboard from door to door, a striking metal honeycomb mesh accent is available. It makes a dramatic visual dividing line between the audio, information displays and the climate controls, while the intricate flow-through design conceals the air vents that would otherwise mar the uncluttered and harmonious look of the dash.
The used materials are also one of the bests. Touchpoints like all switchgear and controls. A whole new premium center console trim and new front seats are the new works inside the Civic. new-generation seat frame firmly holds the body, enhancing comfort on long drives.
Without any doubt all Civic trims have a digital instrument display, bigger or smaller. But the LX, Sport and EX grades have a 7-inch color LCD instrument display similar to that found in Accord. On it, you can see the all-digital speedometer and tachometer. The other model, Touring, has 10,2 inches which shows many information and customized modes with showing gauges in a traditional round needle-and-dial, or bar graphs flanking the left and right of the screen. wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration or specially for Touring the Qi-compatible wireless charging are other technologies. Also 2022 Civic has Bose audio. what else would you like from your Honda Civic.
Safety is one of the most important upgrades in Civic that this Japanese company has played on it a lot. The new structure on the 11th generation of Civic made it safer than before. an 8 percent improvement in torsional rigidity and 13 percent improvement in bending rigidity versus the previous generation. Also, this company has reduced the weight by using light materials like aluminum and various grades of high-strength steel. Meanwhile the transmission of road and wind noise is reduced too.
By using up-dated front airbags for the driver and passengers, brain injury is reduced via the donut-shaped structure. also, the Advanced Compatibility Engineering body structure, cannot just improve the protection in angled frontal collision, but also side impact protection is improved.
Honda Sensing is other feature on the car to by a virtual assistance for driver. It has a single camera with wider view. This system has now Traffic Jam Assist, and the new camera-based system improves on existing functionality, such as more natural brake application and quicker reactions when using Adaptive Cruise Control. And for the first time, Honda added eight sonar sensors to aim the Low-Speed Braking Control and front and rear false-start prevention.
For the 2022 Civic Trims two kind of engines are considered. The naturally aspirated 2.0-liter or a turbocharged 1.5-liter. both of these engines are in paired with an updated continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) which is specially tuned for each one. On the LX and Sport trims we can see the 2.0-liter engine with four cylinders. This engine can produce 158 hp at 6,500 rpm and 138 lb.ft of torque at 4,200 rpm. By the new idle-stop system and a new catalytic converter design, this engine became significantly efficient (thanks to the revised CTV).
For the EX and Touring trims, as the standard engine we can see the 1.5-liter turbo 4-cylinder one. This engine is clearly more powerful with 180 hp at 6,000 rpm and 177 lb.ft of torque at 1,700 to 4,500 rpm. As the 87 octane gasoline is used, there would be a 6 hp more power and 15 lb.ft of torque. For reducing the fuel consumption on this model, a new more efficient turbo plumbing and the addition of Variable Timing and lift Electronic Control is used.
The last wonder here is an optional choice for the costumers. Beside the standard Normal and Eco driving modes, 2.0L Sport and 1.5L Touring trims of the 2022 Civics, buyers can have a user-selectable Sport mode too. The bottom is located on the center console. By going on this mode, driver sense a sportier feel, by adding some red lights inside the car. Eco mode which is mentioned before, brings an easier throttle movement with less sensitivity and well air conditioning.
As Americans were always the biggest fan of Honda Civic, the 2022 Honda Civic continuous its production in north America. The 11th generation will be built in Alliston, Ontario, Canada and for the first time Civic Hatchback would be produced in U.S.
