2025 Renault Trafic Arrives

The 2025 Renault Trafic brings a noteworthy innovation to Australia’s commercial van market by offering drivers the ability to disable multiple advanced safety systems with a single button press — a convenience believed to be a first among vans sold in the country. This new feature, known as the ‘ADAS’ (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) button, is located near the steering column and enables or disables a group of safety features simultaneously through a customisable 'perso' (personal) mode. While other vehicles on the market may offer quick-access buttons for certain safety features, most still require the driver to navigate through the infotainment touchscreen menu to manually toggle each setting. Renault’s approach streamlines the process and gives drivers greater control and flexibility over their driving experience.

In addition to this innovative safety control, the 2025 model year (MY25) Renault Trafic receives a number of other enhancements. As part of the update, the van’s price has increased slightly by $490 across the entire range. A variety of new safety features are now included as standard, such as a driver attention monitoring system and improved autonomous emergency braking (AEB) that now detects both pedestrians and cyclists. These upgrades have helped the Trafic secure a ‘Gold’ rating from ANCAP in terms of crash avoidance and safety performance.

Some features, like adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, front parking sensors, and traffic sign recognition, remain available only as optional extras or are limited to the more premium model variants. Previously standard features, such as AEB with vehicle detection and lane departure warning, continue to be included across all versions of the van.

The Pro model of the Trafic benefits from new practical features, including a factory-installed steel bulkhead with a glazed window and a fold-down middle seat workstation. This workstation includes dedicated space for storing a laptop and holding documents upright, enhancing the vehicle’s utility for mobile professionals. Additionally, automatic high beams have been added to the base model, while the Premium and Lifestyle variants now include a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster. Renault has also updated the vehicle’s branding with new badges across the line-up.

Another practical addition is the inclusion of a QR code on the windscreen, designed to give emergency responders quick access to vital technical and structural information in the event of a collision. Renault’s 2025 Trafic is offered in seven different configurations, encompassing short- and long-wheelbase options, manual and automatic transmissions, and both three-seat van and six-seat Crew Cab layouts.

All models are equipped with a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder diesel engine that produces 125kW of power and 380Nm of torque. Depending on the configuration, this engine is paired with either a six-speed manual gearbox or a dual-clutch automatic (EDC), all driving the front wheels. Renault states that fuel efficiency ranges between 6.5 and 7.2 litres per 100 kilometres. Scheduled servicing is recommended every 12 months or 30,000 kilometres, whichever comes first. The 2025 Renault Trafic is currently available for order.
