Audi introduced the Q6L e-tron at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show, offering a preview of its exterior design, which extends by 105 millimeters compared to the standard Q6 e-tron.

In China, there's a notable preference among executives for spacious rear seating, prompting Audi to cater to this demand with its extended L models. The Q6L e-tron joins Audi's lineup, offering enhanced legroom made possible by its electric architecture.

Externally, Audi didn't merely elongate the Q6L e-tron by 4 inches; it underwent aesthetic refinements as well. The model receives a fresh front fascia treatment with a gloss black finish for the "grille," complemented by side air intakes painted to match, creating an illusion of increased width. Audi also promises exclusive paint options for this model, including the Lilac Grey showcased in promotional images.

Furthermore, the Q6L e-tron boasts digital OLED taillights equipped with communication capabilities, enabling interaction with other vehicles on the road. A "communication light" feature alerts surrounding drivers to accidents and breakdowns via static symbols.

Internally, Audi has revamped the Q6L e-tron's cabin, introducing improved infotainment technology tailored specifically for the Chinese market.

Audi has disclosed that the Q6L e-tron will incorporate a range of driver assistance systems tailored for the Chinese market, such as the adaptive Driving Assistant Pro and Parking Assistant Pro, leveraging onboard lidar, radar, ultrasonic sensors, and cameras. Additionally, V2X technology will provide drivers with real-time information on accidents and hazards in the vicinity.

Beyond enhancing passenger legroom, the extended dimensions of the Q6L e-tron allow for increased battery capacity. With an additional 7 kWh compared to the standard Q6 e-tron, the Q6L e-tron boasts a total capacity of 107 kWh. Consequently, both the Q6L e-tron and SQ6 e-tron variants can achieve a range of over 700 kilometers per charge under China's CLTC standard, surpassing the 625 kilometers of the shorter model. Leveraging 800-volt technology, Audi's latest EV enables charging rates of up to 270 kW.

Thanks to its rapid-charging capabilities, the Q6L e-tron can replenish up to 260 kilometers of range in just 10 minutes at compatible charging stations, reaching an 80% charge from 10% in just 25 minutes. Powering the vehicle is a 342 horsepower motor in the rear-wheel-drive variant, while the twin-motor all-wheel-drive models boast a combined 463 horsepower.

Audi plans to unveil the fully production-spec Q6L e-tron in the fourth quarter of 2024, with deliveries scheduled to commence in 2025. As the first PPE-based EV produced in China, production will take place at Audi's Changchun plant.
