Initial pricing information for the third-generation BMW X1 has recently been released, and deliveries will begin in Australia this year. The sDrive18i and xDrive20i versions of the X1 will be the first to be marketed, with prices starting at AU$53,900 and AU$65,900, respectively.

BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, BMW Live Cockpit Professional, Comfort Access, Connected Package Professional, Head-Up Display, an instrument panel finished in Sensatec, M headliner, mirror package with an anti-dazzle function, remote software updates, Driving Assistant Plus with Active Cruise control, Parking Assistant Plus, wireless Android Auto, and two-zone automatic climate control are new features for the new X1.

The 1.5-liter three-cylinder TwinPower Turbo engine that powers the X1 sDrive18i's engine produces 154 horsepower and 230 Nm of torque. The front wheels receive power from this engine through a seven-speed dual-clutch Steptronic transmission. BMW claims a combined cycle fuel economy of 6.5 l/100 km.

The 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 201 horsepower and 300 Nm is used in the X1 xDrive20i, which provides substantially greater performance. It also uses a dual-clutch Steptronic transmission, but because to the automaker's xDrive all-wheel drive system, it distributes power to all four wheels. Its estimated fuel consumption is 7.4 l/100 km. 19-inch wheels let the X1 xDrive20i stand out from the sDrive18i visually.
