Skoda has revealed a new crossover for the Indian market called the Kushaq. Skoda is looking forward to expanding its model range in Asian markets such as China and India as it has revealed the Kamiq Gt and Kodiaq GT for the Chinese market before.
The Kushaq is a compact crossover build on the MQB-A0-IN platform. In terms of size, it measures 4,221mm long, 1,760 mm wide, and 1,612 mm tall that makes it shorter and narrower compared to the European Komiq. With a wheelbase of 2,651 mm, Kushaq provides a spacious cabin for its passengers. Its boot space capacity is also 385-liter behind the second-row seats.
Skoda also revised the suspension system in order to make it work better on Idia’s rough and bumpy roads.
In terms of design, the Kushaq follows a similar design language as the Komiq and it has 17-inch alloy wheels on its top trims while the base trim features a 16-inch steel wheel.
The interior is also not much different from the European Komiq. The Kushaq comes standard with a new multi-function steering wheel, tablet-style infotainment screen, touch-sensitive controllers for the air conditioning system, and digital instrument cluster.
Under the hood, there is a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine with 115 hp and 275 nm of torque connected to a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. There is a more powerful 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine with 150 hp and 250 nm of torque connected to either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Skoda Mushtaq doesn't have any AWD system and it is a front-wheel-drive car on all trims. Skoda Kushaq will go on sale from this June.
