Peugeot recently announced the last facelift for the current generation of the Peugeot 308 before taking cover from its new generation. While the new generation may be introduced by the end of 2021, for now, the French automaker announced UK pricing and details for the 2021 facelifted version.
The 2021 Peugeot 308 is available in both hatchback and station wagon body with some new exterior paints. Buyers who go for the GT Premium trim can get the Black Pack as an extra-cost option. This pack contains glossy black accents rather than chrome accents and comes with 18-inch alloy wheels finished in Sapphire Black paint. Buyers also can add new optional 16-inch Zircon diamond-cut alloy wheels. The GT trim also benefits from 18-inch wheels, Alcantara, and leather-effect upholstery with red stitching, Blind Spot Monitoring, and Park Assist system.
Features inside the cabin for the 2021 Peugeot 308 are a 10-inch fully digital instrument cluster, a 9.7-inch high-def infotainment system screen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Mirror Screen, 3D navigation, and TomTom Traffic.
Available engines are 1.2-liter petrol, 1.5-liter diesel, and 1.6-liter GTi powertrains. The 1.2-liter base engine comes in two outputs with 108 and 128 hp and it is connected to a 6-speed manual transmission as standard but buyers can order an optional 8-speed automatic transmission for the 128 hp version.
The 1.5-liter diesel also makes 128 hp and it is available with both manual and automatic transmission. Finally, there is a 308 GTi version with a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine with 256 hp and 340 nm of torque. This model can hit 100 kph in dead 6.0 seconds as is a direct rival to VW Golf GTI. Peugeot 308 GTi also benefits from some extra features like 19-inch wheels, upgraded brakes, upgraded suspension system with lower ride height, sports seats with massage function, Alcantara trim with red stitching and leather-wrapped steering wheel.
Pricing for the base model starts from $28,105 that is slightly lower than a new Volkswagen Golf. for the GT trim pricing reaches to $35,121. The GTi version also starts from $42,184 with its all available options.
