2021 Ford Escort Facelift is introduced in the People's Republic.

Under the hood, it's still an old Focus, but Ford has gone to great lengths to freshen up the styling. More significant changes have been made to the interior, where the CN-spec Escort gets a pair of all-digital screens like those seen in the recently unveiled Equator three-row SUV.

The new Escort is 4.63 meters long, 1.82 meters wide, and 1.49 meters high, with a wheelbase of 2.68 meters. Under the hood is a naturally aspirated 1.5-liter engine that sends 122 horsepower to the front wheels via a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. Speaking of wheels, buyers have a choice of a standard 15-inch set or optional 16-inch alloy wheels for the higher trim levels. Overall, the 2021 Escort manages to hide its old bones well by incorporating the latest design elements and technologies seen in Ford's latest models for China.

The revised Escort sits below the Focus Sedan, where Ford continues to sell the mid-size Mondeo. As a reminder, the Mondeo was taken off the market in the U.S. last year and will also be phased out in Europe next year. While we're on the subject of Ford having been or being phased out in certain markets, while continuing to offer it in China, the Taurus is still available in the world's most populous country as the company's flagship model.
