2021 Audi Q5 Sportback Revealed With Quattro As A Standard

Audi revealed the new Audi Q5 Sportback for 2021. The Audi Q5 Sportback is a coupe version of the standard Q5 SUV and will enter the market by the first half of 2021. Audi is going to sell this car in North America, Europe, and other markets and it will compete with BMW X4 and Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe.

On the design side, the most obvious change is the sloppy roof that looks like a coupe car. Actually, the first half of the car is not different from the Audi Q5 SUV but from the B-pillar, the Q5 Sportback is completely different from the SUV version. Audi also designed a new rear bumper and there are some minor changes in the grille.

Other changes compared to the SUV version are LED headlights and taillights. In terms of size, the Q5 Sportback is also 7 mm longer than the Q5 SUV but the height width, and wheelbase are equal. The Q5 Sportback also has a better drag efficiency which is dropped to 0.30.

While because of the coupe-like design the Q5 Sportback has a smaller boot volume compared to the Q5 SUV, it still offers 510 liters of volume at the back which is 40 liters smaller than the SUV version. Still, customers can increase the boot volume to 1,480 liters by folding the rear seats but this is also 7 liters less than the SUV version.

Equipment

Equipment inside the cabin include a 10.1 inch MMI display, standard 12.3 inch Audi virtual cockpit plus, MMI navigation plus, Audi connect internet connectivity, 19 speaker Bang & Olufsen premium audio system head off display wireless smartphone charging pad adaptive cruise control, and lane centering and other driving assistant systems.

Engine

Under the hood, Audi Q5 Sportback comes a standard with a 2-liter TFSI engine which is equipped with the 12-volt mild-hybrid electric system for the US market. The MHEV power train can produce 261 horsepower and 370 mm of torque buyers who are looking for a more powerful model, can go for the SQ5 Sportback version with a 3-liter TFSI V6 engine that pumps out 355 horsepower and 500 newton meters of torque.

In Europe, the Audi Q5 Sportback comes with the 2-liter four-cylinder engine with 201 horsepower. Audi also will continue selling diesel models in the Europe that are known as TDI models there will be also two plug-in hybrid TFSI models of the Q5 Sportback in the European market the four-cylinder models come to standard with the seven-speed transmission but the V6 TDI SQ5 Sportback models are equipped with an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission. All models of the Q5 Sportback are equipped with Quattro all-wheel-drive system as a standard.
