The Pure Naturally Aspirated V12 Is Hard To Be Put Aside, Lambo May Use It For Other Purposes

There is a while that the conflict of the zero emission cars and ICE are getting worst. Lamborghini as one of the users of the V12 has also changed its plans for future. But it seems its really hard for this company to abandon its favorite engine, so they came up with V12 hybrid, or even pure V12 but not in streets. Autocar revealed new information about the future plans.

Recently we were aware that the Ultimae is the last car with the V12. After this car, all the new produced cars will have the electric motor aside and step by step extinct to flow the emissions regulations. Lambo don’t want that happens to its V12 just like as us. So, as the British newspaper wrote, the answer of the CEO, Stephan Winkelmann to the question whether Lamborghini has plans for additional non-hybrid V12 machines was:

"Let's see what comes up. We do this once in a while. We have a lot on our plate so we have to be focused."

Before we saw this literature with Aston Martin too. They also claimed they won’t use any more emission productive engine by 2030 anymore, but as the same time they added some special options would have a powertrain without a hybrid add-on.

But the hybrid V12 is a certain fact to happen. Lamborghini has already prepared its new V12 mode with hybrid option which is welcomed this year. Its not a replacement for Aventador. The flagship car of the lineup, will change its generation in 2023 with a plug-in hybrid powertrain.

This story won’t end up with just Lamborghini, but also Urus with an electrified mid-cycle facelift comes in 2022. The powertrain specification is not revealed yet but we know the plug-in hybrid setup rides on the MLB Evo platform feature a PHEV arrangement. Huracan is other car which sees the modification in 2024 too.
