Volkswagen introduced Lamando L in China. This sedan is a developed car by SAIC-VW joint. Lamando has been around since 2014. With the new updates, the appearance of matrix LED headlights is more likely electric cars. However, it has still an ICE.
Lamando L has the same dimension as its other siblings, Passat and Arteon. 4,784 mm long, 1,831 mm wide, and 1,469 mm tall. But it’s bigger than its previous versions. The wheelbase is now 2,731 mm. Lamando L can be on the MQ platform or go with a frameless window with MQB Evo architecture introduced by the VW Group in 2019. Golf, Octavia, A3, Leon, and China's Talagon full-size SUV, used this one. As the torsion beam rear suspension became problematic, Lamando L is equipped with the multi-link setup as standard. You can find 18-inches wheels under the body too.
This car has the VW badge in white at both ends of the car. But at the rear, it is placed on the LED light strip, which can be a flashback to Arteon-rivaling Peugeot 508. The front grille with its air intake vent is so harmonic with the whole design of the body. Slight streamlines but necessarily make you believe this car is bigger than it looks.
Inside the cabin is also interesting like the appearance. Actually, Lamando L is just like a car heritage every piece from its family. Interior is like Golf Mk8. There are also by the way some changes too, like the central air vents or using a few buttons. This vehicle has a Beats sound system, head-up display, sunroof, shift-by-wire DSG switch, electric front seats, and adaptive cruise control. The rear passengers’ convenience is provided by dual air vents, a central armrest with two cup holders, and a pair of USB ports.
But the most section of this sedan is under its hood. Lamando L uses the familiar engine, 1.4-liter TSI, with 150 hp and 250 Newton-meters (183 pound-feet) of torque delivered to the front axle via a seven-speed, dual-clutch automatic transmission. This car hits 100 km/h in 8.5 sec. that’s not great timing but yet not too bad. There is the possibility for a 2.0-liter engine too.
The sale will begin soon in China. Volkswagen has not yet announced the price for the year’s model, but the standard is already available and you can pursue one.
