Mercedes-Benz at the Munich IAA show is doing great. We see a full line up of electric cars by this German automaker.one of the new member of the family is the EQE. The EQS was the first name for the Mercedes electric car, and now is EQE 350. It’s a member of electric cars of Mercedes.
The Mercedes-Benz EQE 350 is not quite fancy like the EQS but we can compare it with the E-Class or S-Class models. The EQE is a bit shorter than the EQS and of course more compact. It is 4,934 millimeters long, and the wheelbase is 3,122 millimeters. In both measures its smaller than EQS. But it didn’t stop Mercedes to use its big grilles. when we reach to the bumpers, we see the lluminated tri-star accents on the AMG-Line model. The headlights are wide and sharp, and many different wheel designs from 19-inch to 20-inch are available.
Just like the EQS, the EQE 350 is enough aerodynamically efficient. It has just 0.20 drag coefficient, and like the EQS is the most aerodynamic car in the world.
The powering system of this EQE is consist of a 90.6-kilowatt-hour battery pack and a 215.0-kilowatt electric motor which is connected to the rear axle. The output of this car can reach to 288 hp and 530 Nm of torque is delivered to the rear-wheel. However, the costumers can order 4Matic all-wheel drive too. One an electric motor to the front axle would be added to the front axle. The single-speed transmission can handle all.
Considering the European WLTP cycle this vehicle can hit 660 km with single charge, but if US EPA scale employed, the range would drop low. Still this EV can use the fast charge system and reaches to 80 percent charge just in 31 minutes.
Like the gas-powered car, S Class, this electric car, uses the standard four-link front suspension and multi-link rear. The optional rear-wheel steering can increase the steering angle for 10 degrees. Other bespoke feature for this EQE, is the Airmatic air suspension with an adaptive damping system. That means in sport mode, the adaptive dampers can reduce the ride height by 1.0 inch at speeds over 75 miles per hour to help reduce drag and increase stability. Also, by lower than 25 miles per hour, driver can lift the suspension manually for one inch.
Be on the wheels on this such a perfect car is always cool. The a 12.8-inch central touchscreen with a corresponding 12.2-inch digital cluster inside the vehicle is enough to be amused. By the way the bigger sibling will have the newest Mercedes-Benz Hyperscreen as optional request. From the instrument cluster to the passenger-side dash, one-piece curved glass is used to hold a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a huge 17.7-inch central touchscreen display, and a 12.3-inch passenger-side display. Even by using the finger prints the cars biometric authentication and augmented-reality navigation will be activated.
This is Mercedes. So, be aware of the most recent technologies on this vehicle. Starting with the latest version of Mercedes-Benz's MBUX software, with newly colored blue-orange icons and a revised layout. Along with EQE’s three unique display styles (Understated, Sporty, Classic), three specific modes are available too, Navigation, Assistance, and Service.
Interior design consists of brand's Comfort seats. But if you want to order one by the AMG-line, the sport buckets will be used free of charge. MB-Tex fake leather has covered almost everywhere, on the seats, armrests, and portions of the dash. The optional Forest Glade, Sounds of the Sea, and Summer Rain are name of the Mercedes-Benz pre-programmed massage and relaxation system, Energizing Comfort.
Also, by the safety segment, this car has emergency braking, high-beam assist, and pre-Safe collision awareness come standard on the EQE. The Driver Assistance package can be chosen optionally. With this package the active lane-keep assist, lane-change assist, blind-spot monitoring, traffic-sign assist, and a pre-Safe side-impact collision mitigation will engage.
This EQE starts its production by the middle of 2022 for Europe market and US, but the prices would vary a bit.
