C7 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is always one of the best among the supercars. The output reached to 755 hp via its 6.2-liter supercharged V8. The engine of this vehicle is so exclusive. But just like other internal combustion engines, this one is reaching to its end. Although LT5 served well and has always its fans, but it seems production of this engine is stopped.
Just by checking up the Chevrolet Performance Parts website you can see yellow banner at the top of page which shows LT5 is not being produced any more, though you can see the engine on the list yet. Having no LT5 does not mean, C7 ZR1 would be eliminated. This car, just like many others always come back with major changes or there will be better alternatives. Even Camaro IROC with the LT5 is in danger now.
By the way, there is still hope for the internal-combustion powered engines of GM. Maybe supercharged LT4 V8 is not as powerful as LT5, but e Camaro ZL1 and Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing taking advantage of it and on the top trim can have 668 hp. C8 Corvette Z06 and high-revving DOHC V8 are one of the others best couples together. It doesn’t reach to 755 hp but just trusting in technology, next generations could be enough good too.
We shouldn’t also forget, there is always possibilities for electrified vehicles. For example, C8 Corvette E-Ray could be one of them which comes in 2023. It uses 490-hp (365-kW) 6.2-liter naturally aspirated engine with a single electric motor, boosting total output to 650 hp. Or even according to the rumors, the new Zora flagship could produce 1,000 hp with its hyper powertrain.
Its good having and idle and like it, but there is always something better and more powerful waiting there for us. Of course, in automobiles industry.
