SEMA Show Stunner: Audi V8 Swap Turns Porsche Macan Into 600-HP Drift Beast

The gasoline-powered Porsche Macan may be nearing the end of its production run as Porsche shifts its lineup further toward electrification, but that hasn’t stopped one particular tuner from giving the outgoing model an unexpected new identity. At this year’s SEMA Show, aftermarket specialist and parts retailer FCP Euro revealed what it is calling the first-ever drift-prepared Porsche Macan, a four-seat sideways machine powered not by its original V6, but by a thunderous Audi-derived V8 engine.

The transformation is apparent at first glance. This Macan is no longer positioned as a luxury performance crossover. Instead, it has been reshaped into a purpose-built drift car, sitting noticeably lower to the ground and adopting proportions more reminiscent of a track-ready hot hatch than a family hauler. A bold racing livery now coats the exterior, accompanied by a dramatically flared body kit. The visual upgrades include a pronounced front splitter, broad over-fenders to accommodate widened track widths, and a towering rear wing designed to generate stability during high-angle drifts. The rear skid plate was removed entirely to reveal a heavily modified suspension setup underneath, showcasing the vehicle’s mechanical intentions rather than hiding them.

The suspension system has been fitted with custom three-way adjustable dampers, paired with an onboard air-jack system sourced from Aston x Moton Suspension, making trackside adjustments quick and effortless. Rotiform five-spoke wheels complete the stance, sitting with aggressive negative camber particularly noticeable on the front axle. Behind these wheels lies a performance brake package supplied by 034 Motorsport, finished with eye-catching red calipers.

The interior has been stripped down extensively in the name of weight reduction and function. Any elements associated with comfort or daily usability have been eliminated. In their place sits a full roll cage, four individual bucket racing seats equipped with multi-point harnesses, and a hydraulic handbrake essential for initiating drifts. A quick-release steering wheel and a custom switch panel mounted in the center console further underline the Macan's new purpose.

However, the defining characteristic of this build is its engine swap. Rather than the standard Porsche V6, the team installed a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 sourced from a 2014 Audi RS7. With tuning upgrades including a new intake setup and a revised heat-exchange system, the engine now produces over 600 horsepower. Power is delivered exclusively to the rear wheels via an eight-speed ZF transmission that has been modified to allow simulated sequential shifting and authentic clutch kicks thanks to a drive-by-wire clutch pedal.

FCP Euro notes that the build has been under development for the entirety of this year in collaboration with TSH Auto. The completed Drift Macan is currently on display at the Hoonigan booth at SEMA. After the event, the vehicle will hit various tracks across the United States in 2026, where it will operate as a drift taxi, giving fans the chance to ride shotgun in one of the most unexpected Porsche conversions ever seen.
