SAIC has officially introduced the Roewe M7 DMH, a new plug-in hybrid sedan for the Chinese market, offered in three different configurations and priced between $12,100 and $14,500. One of its standout selling points is an exceptionally long CLTC-rated combined driving range of 2,050 kilometers, positioning it as one of the most efficient models in its segment.
The M7 DMH is the first production vehicle inspired by the Roewe Pearl concept, a design originally crafted under the direction of former Rolls-Royce design chief Jozef Kaban. This connection brings a more premium visual identity to the car, most notably visible in its upright vertical waterfall-style front grille. Classified as a mid-to-large sedan, the M7 DMH measures 4,940 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width, and 1,510 mm in height, supported by a 2,820 mm wheelbase. The interior provides generous space, with 126 mm of rear knee room, while practical aspects such as a 5.8-meter minimum turning radius make it manageable in tight urban environments. Curb weight stands at 1,670 kg.
Wheel and tire options differ slightly depending on the trim level. The most affordable variant rides on 215/55 R17 tires, whereas the two higher trims use slightly larger 225/50 R18 tires. Buyers can select from five exterior colors: gray, gold, purple, white, and blue.
A notable highlight of the flagship trim is the inclusion of Roewe’s AI mCDC active suspension system. This technology performs 200 road surface scans per second and predicts conditions 15 meters ahead, adjusting the suspension in real time to enhance comfort and stability. Optional driver-assistance and safety technologies bring the vehicle up to Level 2 ADAS, including features such as highway NOA, blind-spot monitoring, and forward collision warnings.
Inside the cabin, the M7 DMH adopts a modern, digital-first design. It includes a two-spoke multifunction steering wheel with heating, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and a 15.6-inch 2.5K central touchscreen powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 processor. The infotainment system offers broad smartphone compatibility, supporting devices from OPPO, Vivo, Huawei, Xiaomi, and Apple. Practical utility is also strong, with 31 storage compartments spread throughout the interior and a 527-liter trunk for cargo.
Powering the vehicle is SAIC’s in-house DMH 6.0 Super Hybrid System, featuring a 1.5-liter gasoline engine paired with a front electric motor and a 19.7 kWh LFP battery. The internal combustion engine produces 110 hp and 135 Nm, while the electric motor delivers 184 hp and 330 Nm. The car reaches 185 km/h and accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 7.9 seconds. In EV mode, it provides 160 km of CLTC pure-electric range, and overall fuel consumption is rated at 2.91 liters per 100 km. Using fast charging, the battery can be replenished from 30% to 80% in just 20 minutes.
