from New Zealand, The FZero, a hypercar developed by Rodin Cars, was unveiled. Despite being a track-only vehicle, a road-going version is being considered. It only weighs 698 kilograms, the FZero. In order to keep the weight as low as possible, the company chose carbon fiber. The chassis is constructed of carbon fiber composite from nose to tail.

The FZero has a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V10 engine with a maximum output of 910 Nm at 7,250 rpm and 986 horsepower at 9,000 rpm. An electric motor is added to the ICE to create a total output of 1,160 horsepower and 1,026 Nm. An eight-gear Ricardo gearbox transmits power to the rear wheels from the engine's redline of 10,000 rpm.

The front and rear 380-mm brakes are made of carbon-ceramic material, while the braking system is made of carbon fiber composite. The diet is further helped by forged 18-inch magnesium wheels from OZ Racing, which come with Avon tires.

The supercar is huge, at 5,500 mm long, 2,200 mm wide, and 3,000 mm in wheelbase. At about 1,130 mm height, it is incredibly low to the earth.

By the end of 2022, Rodin Cars hope to have a fully functional prototype ready to test the vehicle's 4,000 kg of stated downforce and, ideally, its top speed of 360 km/h.

Rodin Cars are going to build only 27 examples of the FZero and their customers have to pay around $2.2 million. The street-legal equivalent won't be available prior to the sale of the track-only FZero.
