The Nissan N6, developed by Dongfeng Nissan, officially entered the Chinese market on December 1, 2025. The new model comes with a manufacturer’s suggested retail price beginning at roughly $14,089, while early buyers can take advantage of a special introductory “benefit price” starting at about $12,990. Beyond China, Nissan is also evaluating the possibility of bringing the N6 to several international regions, including Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and selected Latin American countries. As a mid-size plug-in hybrid sedan, the N6 represents a significant milestone for the company, marking the first time the “N-series” expands into hybrid powertrains rather than focusing solely on fully electric models.
In terms of styling, the N6 borrows heavily from the design philosophy of the all-electric Nissan N7. Its front end adopts a clean, closed-off appearance characteristic of electric-inspired models. A full-width light bar spans the upper grille area, while the lower section incorporates distinctive L-shaped lighting elements. The front also houses illuminated “NISSAN” lettering, giving the sedan a futuristic identity. Other modern touches include hidden door handles that enhance aerodynamic efficiency and a charging port cleverly positioned on the rear quarter panel. At the back, the car carries a coupe-like silhouette, complemented by a through-type taillight layout and a neatly sculpted rear bumper that hides the exhaust outlets, maintaining a refined aesthetic.
Dimensionally, the N6 fits squarely within the mid-size sedan category. It measures 4,831 mm in length, 1,885 mm in width, and 1,494 mm in height, paired with a 2,815-mm wheelbase. Buyers can choose between 17-inch or 18-inch wheel options, and the colour palette includes several expressive finishes: Sunlight Gold, Mirage Silver, Wind-colored Purple, Rock Grey, Obsidian Black, and Pearl White.
The cabin continues the modern theme with a floating central touchscreen and a fully digital instrument cluster. Customers can pick between light or dark two-tone interior combinations. Even the base models arrive well equipped, offering LED headlights, automatic lighting, Nissan’s “zero-gravity” rear seats, push-button start, a reversing camera, a 10.25-inch driver display, and a 14.6-inch multimedia screen powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chipset. Higher-grade trims enhance the experience with upgraded adaptive LED headlights, multi-colour ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof with a manual sunshade, a 540-degree camera system, intelligent voice controls, adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping features, parking assistance, and a full range of advanced driver assistance technologies.
Powering the N6 is a 1.5-litre gasoline engine paired with an electric motor, drawing energy from a 21.1-kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery supplied by Chinese manufacturers. Depending on the selected battery configuration, the sedan delivers a CLTC-rated pure electric driving range of 170 km or 180 km—a figure that stands out as exceptionally high for a plug-in hybrid vehicle within this pricing bracket.
By combining its long electric-only driving capability, contemporary design touches, and generous interior space, all while maintaining an accessible price point, the Nissan N6 has the potential to significantly influence consumer expectations and reshape the value proposition within China’s competitive plug-in hybrid sedan market.
