The facelifted Citroen C5 Aircross 2022 has been unveiled. The appearance has been overhauled, with a new front-end that replaces the split headlamps of the existing C5 Aircross SUV with single-piece ones that include twin-line daytime-running lights and LED technology.

Vertical air intakes have been added to the lower front bumper, along with new LED taillight graphics and 18-inch wheel designs, as well as gloss black mirror caps and matte black roof rails.

The 10-inch tablet-style infotainment display seen in the new C4 compact SUV and other new-generation Peugeot and Citroen models sits above restyled air vents and touch-sensitive shortcut buttons on the inside of the C5 Aircross.

Buyers will have the option of Alcantara or perforated leather upholstery, with the front seats updated to the Advanced Comfort units seen in the C4 and C5 X, which include 15mm of foam with heating and massage capabilities.

A revamped center console with a Volkswagen-like toggle switchgear selector, an extra USB port, and a driving mode selector to convert between Hybrid, Electric, and Sport modes in plug-in hybrid models are among the other new features for the facelift.

There have been no modifications to the engine lineup, implying a variety of petrol, diesel, and plug-in hybrid powertrains across Europe.

The latter combines a 177 hp gasoline engine with an 81 kW electric motor and a 13.2 kWh battery for a total output of 221 horsepower and a stated WLTP driving range of 55 kilometers.

All variants marketed in Australia used the same 1.6-liter turbocharged petrol four-cylinder engine, which produced 162 horsepower and 240 Nm through a six-speed automated gearbox to the front wheels.

Despite competing in one of Australia's most popular new vehicle classes and accounting for 33% of Citroen Australia sales in 2021, the 2022 Citroen C5 Aircross is slated to go on sale in Europe in mid-2022. However, no date has been set for an Australian debut.
