Hyundai has revealed intentions to construct a new electric vehicle manufacturing facility in the United States. While there is no news on how much the manufacturer plans to invest in the plant, it is expected to produce the Hyundai Ioniq 7 and Kia EV9. Last year, both model concepts were shown.

The manufacturer has advanced conversations with state officials to develop a dedicated EV factory there, according to individuals who spoke to Reuters.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the plant may produce 8,500 employment, and talks are underway about a parcel of property near Ellabell. The state had already marketed the 2,200-acre site to Jaguar Land Rover, Rivian, and Volvo, according to the report.

The two parties appear to be still working out the details, but an announcement is likely soon. Hyundai plans to make the announcement during President Biden's trip to South Korea, which begins on May 20th, according to a source close to the company.

The Hyundai Ioniq 7 and Kia EV9 will both be built on the E-GMP platform and will have three rows of seats. The prototypes also featured 350 kW DC fast charging and a range of at least 483 kilometers.

The Kia EV6 could be the most important model the South Korean automaker has released in recent years. It has dual electric motors that provide a combined 325 horsepower, and a 0-96 km/h time of 4.82 seconds was obtained during this test.

The interior of the EV6 is more like that of previous Kia vehicles, unlike the Hyundai Ioniq 5, which features a retro-inspired interior.
